Zac Efron is opening up about some very hot topics.

The 34-year-old actor, who is starring in the upcoming The Greatest Beer Run Ever, got very candid in an interview with Men’s Health. He spoke about not ever wanting to do again what he had to do to achieve his Baywatch body, gave an update on his love life, and even addressed the rumor that went completely viral about his face.

He said about his Baywatch body and the ill effects training for that had on him:

“That Baywatch look, I don’t know if that’s really attainable. There’s just too little water in the skin. Like, it’s fake; it looks CGI’d. And that required Lasix, powerful diuretics, to achieve. So I don’t need to do that. I much prefer to have an extra, you know, 2 to 3 percent body fat.

I started to develop insomnia and I fell into a pretty bad depression, for a long time. Something about that experience burned me out. I had a really hard time recentering. Ultimately they chalked it up to taking way too many diuretics for way too long, and it messed something up.”

He also gave an update on matter of the heart (ladies, take note!):

“I’ve really been taking time to focus on, you know, self-fulfillment and trying to find my groove. I know that probably when I meet the right person, it’s going to be when I least expect it.”

And Zac finally spoke out about the rumor that he received a “new face” last year when a photo made the rounds showing him with a slightly different appearance. Fans theorized that he had gotten plastic surgery — and now, he is letting everyone know what actually happened.

Zac revealed that he had “shattered his jaw” — he had been running in his house with socks on and he fell, which led to him slipping and hitting his chin against a granite fountain. Zac said he passed out, and when he became conscious again, his chin bone was hanging off of his face!

Zac went on to explain that that the reason his face looked different is due to his master muscles, which overcompensated because of the injury:

“The masters just grew. They just got really, really big!”

So how did he find out about the rumor? His mom was the first person who told him! He shared:

“If I valued what other people thought of me to the extent that they may think I do, I definitely wouldn’t be able to do this work.”
