After many weeks of speculations, the secret is finally officially out: Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are expecting their second child together!
In her new cover feature for ELLE UK, the Game of Thrones actress can be seen proudly posing with her baby bump. Finally breaking her silence on her pregnancy, Sophie spoke about the ecstatic feeling about being a mother to her and Joe’s one-year-old daughter Willa — as well as the joy she feels about adding to their family. She said:
“It’s what life is about for me — raising the next generation.
The greatest thing in life is seeing my daughter go from strength to strength.
We’re so excited to be expanding the family. It’s the best blessing ever.”
Rumors of a second pregnancy began swirling when Sophie and Joe were spotted out and about, Sophie seemingly with a baby bump. The married couple walked the red carpet at this year’s Met Gala, where Sophie looked like she was cradling her baby bump. But the two had not yet officially confirmed the joyful news — until now.
Sophie also spoke about how protective she and Joe feel about their family even as they try to navigate their blooming careers:
“Every time Joe and I do a red carpet together, we make sure it’s for the right reason and makes sense for our careers. You never want to market yourself as a celebrity couple. It’s not that cool.
And my daughter never asked for any of this. I know what it can do to your mental health to be in this industry, and to be photographed every day and have the comments. It’s not something I want her to deal with unless she says, ‘This is what I want to do.’ We’re quite strict about that.”
