In 2015, Shonda Rhimes published instant best-seller Year of Yes: How to Dance It Out, Stand in the Sun and Be Your Own Person, detailing how saying yes to opportunities and challenges changed her life.
Applying the principle five years later, the producer has partnered with Peloton for an exclusive eight-week “Year of Yes” series that began Dec. 14. The classes span multiple disciplines (some, like meditation, don’t even require the bike) for all fitness levels with four 20-minute weekly workouts, and Rhimes will participate in post-workout discussions on social media.
Following up with THR, the showrunner says, “It’s been quite a year, 2020 put a halt on many areas of our lives, and it continues to be quite a challenging time for so many. For me, working out has been a practice to help build resilience and strength, so I am excited to partner with Peloton and join others in saying yes to embracing athleticism in every form. I wanted to make sure this program was accessible whether you owned a bike or not and no matter where you were in your fitness journey. All you need to do is download the app and to start the journey with me.”
This is happening. I asked and @onepeloton said YES. We’re giving you 8 weeks to say yes to your own self-care with special classes, different instructors, round table discussions. Just say YES. Yes to your body. Yes to beginning again. Yes to athleticism in every form. pic.twitter.com/7aPQf8QmYA
