Fortnite is set to host a short film festival on the Party Royale big screen.

Dubbed Short Nite, the festival will stream a series of animated films from international directors and writers. The series, roughly 30 minutes in length, will run continuously in the battle royale multiplayer game for 24 hours starting on Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. ET.

Among the 12 animated short films is Bench from director Rich Webber, which is currently long-listed for a BAFTA award. From BlueZoo Animation Studio, Lynx & Birds will be shown, as well as Jamille van Wijngaarden’s slapstick film about a pet bird and a curious cat, Catastrophe; and the Oscar-nominated film A Single Life from the writing and directing team of Job Roggeveen, Joris Oprins and Marieke Blaauw.

No movie tickets are required for attendance and players can jump in at any point. Films that contain dialogue will be available with subtitles.

The Party Royale mode in Fortnite is an experimental space where players can play mini-games and attend concerts. After hosting a Travis Scott’s in-game concert in 2020 that drew 12.3 million concurrent viewers, the game has welcomed a live concert series featuring artists including Dominic Fike and Anderson .Paak, a Halloween concert from J. Balvin and a Christopher Nolan-themed movie night, among other events.
