Bob Iger, executive chairman of The Walt Disney Co. and chairman of the board of directors, has been tapped to receive an honorary award at the 2021 Clios.

The Clio Awards — which honor excellence in advertising across the sports, fashion, music, entertainment, cannabis and health industries — will take place as a virtual event at 12 p.m. ET on April 28.

Iger will accept his award during a fireside chat moderated by Asad Ayaz, president of marketing for Disney Studios Content and the recipient of the 2019 The Hollywood Reporter & Clio Entertainment Marketing Mastermind Award. During the conversation, Iger is expected to offer insights into his leadership and success at Disney.

The award presentation will be part of what’s being called Clio Awards: Creativity Unmasked, “a celebration of the creative community and the multitude of ways the industry has thrived over the last year.” The event, produced in collaboration with Superfly, will be hosted by Andrea Savage, actress-producer and co-creator of truTV’s I’m Sorry. During the event, the winners of the 2020-21 Grand Clio and “Of the Year” Awards will be unveiled.

“It’s no secret that the awards business was completely upended last year, but our team rose to the challenge and leaned into virtual events and new content offerings at Muse by Clio with great success,” said Nicole Purcell, CEO of the Clio Awards. “However, with our main Clio Awards celebration we really wanted to push the envelope and offer the community something unexpected.”

To that end, the Clio Awards on Wednesday also detailed their plans for the show, which will take on a tweaked format amid the pandemic. The show will include inspiration short films, a sketch comedy short, an AR experience centered on the Met museum, the presentation of a Storytelling Award to Brandon Stanton of Humans of New York, a look at inclusivity in 2020 and more.
