
BTS fans have much to look forward to!
The phenomenally successful boy band has three new projects in the works with Disney.
It was announced on Monday (July 11) that the K-pop group’s Hybe has established a new partnership with Disney for five brand new projects. This deal includes three exclusive series.
BTS will be part of three of those five projects.
Disney’s APAC head of content Jessica Kam-Engle said in a statement released to The Hollywood Reporter:
“We are thrilled to be collaborating with Hybe to showcase their original content created with powerful artist IP on our global streaming services including Disney+.
This collaboration represents our creative ambition — to work with iconic content creators and top stars in Asia Pacific so their talent can be enjoyed by mainstream audiences in multiple ways.
We believe these new titles will captivate consumers worldwide and look forward to introducing more music content on our service.”
One of the upcoming titles will be a filmed version of not of BTS’ Permission To Dance tour shows in LA. BTS: Permission To Dance On Stage – LA will be “an exclusive cinematic 4K concert film featuring BTS’ live performance in Los Angeles’ Sofi Stadium in November 2021.”
One of the titles on the series side will be In The Soup: Friendcation. This is said to be “an original show with a star-studded cast including V of BTS, Itaewon Class’ Seo-Jun Park, Parasite star Woo-shik Choi, Hyung-sik Park and Peakboy. The show features the five friends venturing on a surprise trip and enjoying a variety of leisure and fun activities.”
A documentary series, BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star, is set to follow “the incredible journey of 21st century pop icons BTS.”
This docu-series will premiere in 2023 and feature footage from the past nine years, documenting “the daily lives, thoughts and plans of BTS members, as they prepare for their second chapter.”
CEO of Hybe Park Ji-won stated:
