Britney Spears is back with new music!
The pop star has teamed up with Elton John for a fresh new take on his 1972 hit track “Tiny Dancer.”
It’s being reported that Britney recorded a duet of the iconic song with the famed Rocket Man. The new duet is said to drop next month.
This news comes at the heels of Britney hanging out with Taron Egerton. Taron famously portrayed Elton John in Rocketman, the 2019 biopic about the legendary musician.
Over the weekend, Britney posted on her Instagram Stories about meeting Taron, sharing photos of her and her husband Sam Asghari snapping photos and rubbing elbows with the actor on a rooftop. She wrote about her fangirl moment:
“Coolest guy ever!!! Such a freaking fan… I was so stupid!!!”
However, it was a tweet from Britney back in 2015 that’s gotten the internet all a-buzz.
The cryptic tweet, which she posted back in October 2015, just said this:
“Tiny Dancer #EltonAlways @eltonofficial”
This old post of hers immediately went viral on Tuesday (July 26) as news of Britney’s collaboration with Elton on the song broke out. Fans could not help but notice the significance of the date that it was posted. She tweeted the short and mysterious tweet on October 21, 2015 — which just so happened to also be Back To The Future Day or the day that Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) go into the future in the 1989 film Back To The Future: Part II.
Fans of course went crazy over this detail, jokingly saying that Britney may have traveled to the future. One fan wrote:
“Not Britney revealing her comeback song on the exact day Marty travels to the future
Her mind!!! Time travel is real!!!”
This upcoming new version of “Tiny Dancer” will mark Britney’s first single since “Slumber Party” in 2016. In case you did not know, it was on the set for the music video for that song that Britney met her now-husband Sam.
The new single will also be Britney’s first since she was released from her conservatorship back in November 2021.
